CEO

Alaska Chiropractic Society

Debbie Ryan is the CEO of the Alaska Chiropractic Society and has worked for the ACS in various capacities for the past 38 years. Her passion for chiropractic stems from life-changing care at the age of six when she was cared for by her first chiropractor, Dr. Norma Godfrey. The chronic sick headaches and unknown kidney and bladder infections became nonexistent with Dr. Godfrey’s care.

Debbie’s father, a civil servant for the military, also suffered from colitis and infertility, and he also experienced complete relief from both issues, resulting in a little sister. This prompted her father to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic and become one of the early pioneers of chiropractic in Alaska. He and four colleagues started the Alaska Chiropractic Society in 1971, where they continued to support and defend chiropractic in the State.

Chiropractic is a family affair with a father, uncle, son, brother-in-law, all are chiropractors, and a daughter who is a Certified Clinical Chiropractic Assistant. Debbie and her son, Dr. Kelly Ryan own and operate the family business that has been in operation since the 1950’s and that her father initially purchased from Godfrey's. She understands the day-to-day challenges that face all of us and aspires to help solve these issues and improve access to care for patients.
